Mi Rincón
Colombia, 2011
Humanness, we believe that every person has a story and that story is worth telling.
Recognition, every person at any age carries a hero within.
Transparency, their voices not ours.
Technology as Democracy, let the people speak their stories out loud.
Quality, crafting strong films to reach an audience worldwide.
We offer an intensive and comprehensive film workshop where each participant embarks on a journey of self-exploration through the use of different mediums such as writing, drawing, and video in order to discover their creative voice and share it with the world.
Our process includes:
By learning the art of visual storytelling each participant voices a personal story through a short film; a self-portrait. The aim of the workshop is to be a transformative experience for participants by providing tools for self-contemplation and self-empowerment. The workshop showcases human strength and happiness within the daily reality of a specific community. It focuses on reaffirming a participant’s individual strengths while building solidarity, trust, and collective thinking.
“Writing the script was very challenging. I put the truth of my experiences and my feelings in it. I was shy while we filmed my story, but when I saw the results I was like Wow, I did it!.”
“In the project Mi Rincón, I learned a lot about making a documentary… there are so many things one has to do to finish it. I learned how to do an interview and how to write a screenplay and then filmed it. What I loved the most was drawing the storyboard and writing our stories to be filmed. We were all together and everyone was working on his idea, there was a connection between all of us at that moment.”
“Filming was an unforgettable experience. The film crew who supported us was very professional. It was truly a privilege; something out of the ordinary.”
“The workshop was very intense. It helped me work with my inner self and further my self-empowerment. It took me on the journey of my life from my childhood up to today. Thank you for letting me be part of this project.”

Our projects are based on a participatory filmmaking philosophy. We love our work because we can use our film skills while being able to understand and enjoy other cultures by listening with respect and creating trust. While creating a visual archive of humanity, we give every person the opportunity to shine.
